Correct answer: A. 24

Why

For a rectilinear staircase outline, the total length of all the horizontal segments equals the bounding width (7 cm) and the total length of all vertical segments equals the bounding height (5 cm), each counted on both sides — perimeter = 2 × (7 + 5) = 24 cm.
